FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Will I be billed for calling your hotlines?
NO!!! We do not charge for calling any of our numbers. Aside from standard long-distance and carrier rates that would apply when making ANY phone call, our numbers are 100% FREE!

What about your Humor Hotlines that say the call is being re-routed or claim to make additional charges?
A few of our prank phone numbers [notably The “It Could Always Suck More” Hotline (401-992-4050) and The “Billion Dollar Bailout” Hotline (781-452-2073)] claim to make outrageous charges on the calls. Rest assured, THESE ARE JOKES!!! Regardless of what these HUMOR Hotlines claim, they are 100% free to call.

Do you charge for your text messages that give me the new Humor Hotlines?
NO!!! Text messages promoting our newest Humor Hotlines are free. Your standard messaging rates apply just as with any text message but we’re not charging you.

How do I opt out of receiving text message updates from HumorHotlines.com?
To opt-out text "STOP" to 95577
For help text "HELP" to 95577

Why am I receiving “prank calls” from your phone numbers?
Two things could be happening here.

1. You are receiving calls from a user on our sister site, ComedyCalls.com.

ComedyCalls.com is a fun site which allows the user to call just about any phone number with a variety of pranks, jokes, and other content we (and hopefully the recipient) find funny or useful. What if you don’t think we’re funny? Find out how to stop unwanted calls by clicking here.

2. You are receiving calls directly from someone using a technology called Caller ID Spoofing, which makes the calls look like they are coming from one of our Hotlines.

We write the Humor Hotline messages, put them up on phone numbers, and promote them for people to dial in to. HumorHotlines.com does not place outbound calls to anyone. Through a technology known as “Caller ID Spoofing," individuals are able to mask their real caller ID and replace it with a number of their choosing in order to make a prank call. Because many of our hotlines are “prank-oriented,” people often use our numbers in place of their real number when “spoofing.” Many sites offer this technology, but HumorHotlines.com is not one of them. Because we are not placing the calls we can not stop them from reaching you. You might contact your carrier to see if they can help you to stop the unwanted calls.

If you’re not sure which situation applies to you, clicking here to add your number to our DO NOT CALL list is a great place to start.
